who's got their cows out?

Cows still out day and night here. Having round bale silage at night and 8 inches of clover/grass.

We are still out day and now night. Good grass covers still but they are having some clamp silage to help keep intakes up. Will switch them to oadm for the last month of their lactation.

Ayr calving here. In by night, out by day for a few hours pretty much on full winter ration. Not much grass about just out for a bit of excersice and take the muck out. Yesterday's rain made it very wet. Reckon when it rains again the gate will be locked. I always find it interesting how we all do it different

Still out here, most stopping in over night, but was 15% of them outside when I got up this morning! robot screen says we're averaging 2.4 milkings and 27.3 kg of milk per cow

Everything out at day, fresh calvers all in at night to get some extra grub into them. Stale cows get 3/4 hr at silage around each milking as getting very short of grass which is worrying as these stale cows would normally leave out once far-off dry. Bulling heifers brought in last week, vaccinating etc this week start serving early Nov.

Lows are out by day and getting 1kg wheat and 6kg/dm grass silage at night which is gone by 10 pm this is working well group average of 20 liters with 4kg in the parlour I think I've 3 weeks grass left if the weather plays ball the ground is still pretty dry

Cows still out day and night eating hay at milking .Still strip grazing 8 /10 inches of lovely clover grass as much as they can eat .I rekon will have enough for another 10 days depending on rainfall.Best grass growing summer/ autumn we've had for years.

we have at least 3 weeks left by day and about 18 nights keep having to push out the end date as grass hasn't given up growing quite yet. cows getting about 3kgDM maize silage before afternoon milking.
no need for a torch here(yet) cows still coming home pretty well on the batchlatch

Yes and will need a better torch now with clocks changing .That's the only thing that's a challenge with extended grazing when the weathers been as good as this autumn. Keeping them out as long as possible.

Not short of grazing but we had a real wet week 6/7 weeks ago and as were one of the wettest farms in the Blackmore vale the gateways were just getting far too muddy and milking wasn't enjoyable so bit the bullet and had them in plus yeah they are high yielders

I wonder how close your farm is to ours! Perhaps(he mentions with a tin hat on) a few railway sleeper tracks would help your situation.Its been an amazing growing season in the vale. seems a shame to miss out on that low cost DM. friends have had grass samples done recently showing ME between 11.5 and 12 and proteins in the mid twenties and DM around 19% brilliant feed really

Turnout here is mid to the end of April if we're lucky. Ground is just too wet until you have longer days
