The evidence, here in Wales, looks rather different.

Carwyn Jones did a fair bit of canvassing on doorsteps (his constituency is Bridgend) and he reports that most 'leave' voters he spoke to wanted to 'give David Cameron a kicking' and were emphatically Labour voters.

The GE2017 tends to substantiate this.

Other Labour activists report that, when they made a special effort as in Monmouth, they won. Those activists blamed Jeremy Corbyn for not making sufficient campaigning efforts.

The conclusion, based on the evidence, is that the Valleys vote was one of hostility to the Tories. Which, of course, is ironic.

Voted for change?
The flucking tories are in power, how is that change?
Surely if the electorate wanted change they would have voted UKIP, which they didn't?
Myself for what it's worth I think people voted out because they could and little else.
I don't want another vote, I don't want to hear about the bloody carry on we have now.
Sure it will work out in the end, it will have to.

The tories were behind the wheel, but they were not in gear, just coasting along while the Eu did all the work, and thus, they have lost their way, the only way to make government work better is by forcing them to know their brief and hence, staying part of the EEA agreement to continue trade, while taking back control of other affairs will be the best way to do this, brexit revealed how little the government knows what it's doing, but we knew this before with their treatment of most other sectors it's involved in.

They voted to change from being in the eu to leaving

Truth is that now we will have to have a proper govt. again. Not just a proxy for the EU. The fact that the current lot are crapping themselves is inevitable as they have never had to do it. People will come along who can and it won't be Jesus Corbyn.

I never understood why the Valleys voted leave. Neither did I understand why Cornwall voted leave. Now it seems the Cornish people themselves don’t understand why they voted leave:rolleyes:
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...nt-crops-rotting-migrant-labour-a8049391.html
So if all these big horticultural farmers were only employing EU labour and not local people, why should local people care if they go out of business? It's not like Cornish jobs will be lost as all the labour comes from the EU. I just see a few big players screaming because their supply of slave labour is running out.

It appears to me that under the predicted disaster it will be so expensive to import meat, fruit and veg after Brexit that may there may be far more demand for UK produce after all and in fact the farmers will be able to pay a proper UK wage to their pickers.
