WiFi Gadget

Roscoe, are you quoting from experience, are you actually doing it? I am only skeptical because, looking at all the questions and answers on the Amazon website, where it is sold, there is a variety of opinion.

I don't understand why the q.cast has to connect directly to my router, and be "supported"by Netflix, I player, YouTube etc. My tablet does that. Not that I am remotely interested in watching films, and certainly not paying a subscription for anything.

All I want is a gadget that will show, on my TV screen, anything that is on my tablet screen without cables connecting them.

I'm not sure it will work. I thought these gadgets linked the TV direct to a web link ie an address to YouTube etc. I did not think the tablet or computer communicated data to the TV.

I had the app. Then was told I could get it on TV with you view box for £5. We can not get infinity. BT engineers say we can not get it because line not fast enough. BT sales team say we can get it. We have about 5Mb and can watch OD TV programme on you view with no problem.
Will probably end up back with the app for £5 and chromcast.

I have now bought a Chromecast and it seems to do what I want. It takes 4 or 5 minutes for the tablet to show on the TV screen. It tells me that my device is not optimised for the Chromecast. I don't know what to do about that.
