Axial pro does have the label rec for additional adigor in certain situations and also the lady who was giving us a talk about the new axial saud they now allow the inclusion on other MSO.

Personally when using old axial I would cut the rate of the axial but always keep the adigor at max!!!!

0.15 axial works perfectly for me if the wild oats are small. There won't be any resistance issues if it has killed them all. I would increase the rate if later in the season though.

I think the new Axial Pro is about half the strength of active?? Therefore double the rate of old axial to achieve the same job.

Comparing labels,Axial pro is about 50% concentration of the old Axial,agronomist advised 0.6l/ha ! of the new formulation,nearly had a heart attack till ilooked at the label,just sayin...

Misread the question.
I've been down to 0.15 for small oats in spring barley and 0.2 is my default rate in winter barley for autumn germinators. What ever you do keep the oil at the max and if practical a slow steady speed and if possible flatbfans with a nice fine coverage you'll be fine.

I seem to remember using it at 0.15 as well and had no issues. Obviously you do not use that rate on wild oats half as tall as you in June....

Axial Pro @ 0.4litre would be the suggested off label rate for going early on smaller oats. That is about equivalent to 0.2 of original axial. At this rate of Pro though it is suggested you add some extra MSO despite there being oil adjuvants formulated into the new product (lowering the active rate is lowering the oil rate too now). From what I can see so far it’s still going to work into slightly more £ than the original combo. Which isn’t surprising... Syngenta’s margins on the product have probably dropped in recent years so they felt it was time for a reformulated product that is really the bloody same thing in 1 can instead of 2, but yet it costs more......

Is it a silly idea to combine the oil with the active like they've done with Axial Pro?

We might want different levels of adjuvant based on water volume and the target weed species and its size.

Syngenta protecting their margins, but not thinking about their customer imho.

I think the Axial label recommends 0.25l/ha for W-Oats.

@0.25l/ha =£18.75/ha
@0.4l/ha = £30/ha
@0.6l/ha = £45/ha (Full label rate)

All approx. prices, excluding Adigor (which is basically MSO, 85% I think?).

Atlantis at label rate for comparison is:

@0.4kg/ha =£31.60 excluding Biopower.
It’s actually 0.3 on the label, just everyone cuts it to 0.25
