I was always told once they'd gone black they'd never go back . That'll confuse the race police
Leucitic blackbird, saw one around here last year. Not uncommon.We had a blackbird here with a white patch on one side of it's head. Haven't seen it this year

It's a heron that was in no rush to leave.
Surprised me. Climbed over a fence and through gap in the hedge and the dog was looking at/ scared of something (she's normally rushed off in hunting mode). Didn't see it at first. Must have been within about 20 yards before it got up.... i suspected heron but the location threw me!
