Would never go through it again. Repair costs are horrendous. Planning is painful as but the electric is very beneficial if you have a use.
May I ask what size unit you opted for?

Endurance E3120 55kw. It's just 5 year old and currently due for work that's around 25% of purchase cost. It was also over sold on wind available at my site as only ever has done around 75% of original estimate for my site. Have seen both the installer and the manufacturer go bankrupt and ending my 5 year warranty very abruptly.
Wow, you have hit the wall with that one.... Seems there is still a lot of work to be done with theat level then.
I often thought, As many of these turbines are grant aided (to varying degrees) the sellers should have serious govt bonds should they go belly up

If I was doing a wind turbine now it would be hydraulic with storage giving 24/7 power.
Can you explain a bit more?
Is it a bit like a hydro dam pumping up during low demand

But using modern accumulators and displacement pumps. If you look in particular at the details for Antwerp and Geneva they where already doing it for electrical supply even though the technology was not really there. With the recent steps made in displacement pump design the hydraulic losses have now been minimised encouraging there use on wind turbines.

Vestas 200kw, done our own planning, sourced turbine ourselves, projected managed in house, DNO connections FIT application etc etc. Frustrating at times but we managed it.

Yes, we would done it slightly different if doing it again...we would have put planning in for 2 and put 2 up!
Have planning for one here if anyone is interested.

Is this a vesta that has been modified to hydraulic. If I could get planning permission I would be doing this but no chance with my local authority. Largest turbine they have passed is 50kw which I dont believe is an economic size. Would rather have 3 x 250kw to stand a chance of getting through planning.

We have a 20 kw C & F Irish built turbine. Planning and grid were no bother and didnt cost a fortune either.
Unfortunately the machine itself has been a bit hit or miss, never done anything like what was claimed, not that I expected it to.
Reliability has been a fairly big issue, and at least 25% of its income is spent on annual maintenance, and some years more like 50%, plus the downtime has been horrendous, stopped for 3,4,5,6 months sometimes.
As for C&F the company, I wouldnt like to say publicly my thoughts.
We are on a good Fit rate, think its about 31p/kwh now, but any less would make it a no go.
I'd have been better off buying a flat and renting it out.
Turbine will be worthless at 20yrs old so needs to recoup a buying bill, and rental income to match a buy to rent property.
