I hate saying it but by far the best & simplest email program Microsoft has ever done was Outlook Express which was then superseded with Windows Mail
that was 95% the same just improved. then guess what after Windows Vista they dumped it...
I still use it on Win7 PC but it took some getting running but i did it.
Tried later to add it onto W10 but its beat me so far.

All the rest AFAIK are just poor clones & ive tried a few.

Webmail is the utter pitts end of. no matter what platform its on. or OS

So if anyone else has managed to get the classic Windows Mail running on W10 please let me know how its done as id install it in a flash

Outlook Express was brilliant IMHO, but is sadly no more :(

I've used Thunderbird for more years than I'd care to remember and can't really fault it.
It collects email from 5 accounts without problems and still connects to usenent
occasionally!

Well, it was a long time ago since I changed, but I'm sure there was a way, somehow, with maybe a TB addon???

It is possible, but its not easy and needs some IT skill to pull it off - you need to convert your mailbox from POP to IMAP, synchronise that mailbox in IE, then set up Outlook (by far the best of the non-open source mail clients) then resync in Outlook.

Is driving f@#king crazy just wont download or send e emails.... I'm having to use out look and its soooooo annoying.
I don't dislike outlook apart from it doesn't play well with hotmail and gmail accounts when my VPN is enabled, :cautious: Outlook also seems to be a twit for not purging deleted emails at one point the gmail inbox was more or less empty and we where at 97% of storage capacity... had to find and delete 70,000 emails that where still stored on gmail. Have since switched the gmail account to Thunderbird in a bid to reduce outlooks distain for the VPN.. hopefully Thunderbird is doing a better job purging deleted emails
