After a bit of advice on drilling winter beans with the 750a. We’ve always been on spring beans which have established fine with the JD. however with harsh springs there falling out of favour so spreading our risk by splitting as winters and springs.
Any one had any experience with winters using the JD ?
Many thanks

@moretimeforgolf you've had blocking issues in past have you over come them?
As Fish says, keep the air speed high. It’s also best to lift up at the corners when drilling the headlands rather than trying to creep round with the drill in the ground. The other obvious point is don’t try to push on if the field conditions are too wet - there’s a chance of getting mud up the coulters if you’re not careful.

Yes, never had a problem, keep the air up and don't go to fast.

Never go over 4500 rpm to be safe. 5000 rpm and you’ll blow the fan motor seals. I’ve drilled thousands of acres of beans with a 750 and seed rates up to 375 kg/ha ( winter beans in April) and never had a problem, I’ve never had to go slow either, just make sure you fit the blue bean flap on the metering wheel and remove the agitator pins.

What Simon said really, drilled ours last year for the first ever time for winter beans, speed about 10-11 kph about 26 seeds square meter (180kgha depends on tgw), never had a blocked spout, have now got pro series drill coulters on the new drill so time will tell, drill as deep as it will go fan speed 4100 rpm, But this was last year when conditions were near perfect, we have about 160ish plus a couple of hundred for neighbours to drill this year if it gets it dry enough to plant, haven't dare plant anything yet. also remember i have only had a 750 as long as you@Ladybird, im not an expert though.

Ha. We’ve just gone to a six metre. With the new pro series coulters too. I’ve quite a few winter beans due to failed osr . ?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️
We’ve only ever had springs. I drilled 320kg/ha last spring. No blockages. Bloody love the drill.
