Winter beans

i'll claim to know nothing about growing them other than what i've read on here but I've fed plenty beans before. quite like them in a blend. Bit of starch and protein source. Have to be stored spot on not too damp, not too dry.
High in tannins so can definitely be overdone if fed too much. Reliability of supply is the biggest reason i don't feed them regular. Often they end up getting shipped to africa for human consumption.

Get them propcorned at harvest and the storage isn't an issue.

RB209 for P and K requirements. No N allowed. Sow in October by shallow ploughing in or a strip till drill. Keep them cheap - chasing bruchid beetle is largely a waste of time IME. Tolerate a bit of weevil notching on the leaves though this is rarely an issue in winter beans. Few fungicide options though stockpile some CTL for chocolate spot but beware that most CTL does not have bean approval on the label.

Budget 4 t/ha and feed price.
