Winter Tyres

I have winter tyres on my pick up, continentals. Rightly or wrongly ran them all summer. They will easily last the winter as well. We passed a 4wd Tiguan in avoriaz last winter spinning all 4 wheels and going no where with summer tyres. Didn't even put in in to 4wd.
They make so much different in wet, ice and snow. Worth the investment. Buy part worms with 6mm on.

Mrs Brisel does lots of driving for work so I bought her a set of alloys & winters on eBay. They go on in November & come off in March.

I've just bought a set for my AMG V8 as it gets very skittish in the wet with a heavy right foot! The trouble is, the offsets are wrong & the calipers just touch the spokes. Where can I work out what size spacers I need other than going to a wheel specialist?

Ever since I bought them we've not had a hard winter!

Winter tyres on here all year round.

What are the cons of using winter tyres in summer?
Summer tyres guarantee the maximum safety performance during summer either on dry and wet roads. As an illustration, breaking from 80 to 0 kph between 11 to 26°C, on wet roads will take 4m shorter with summer tyres than with winter tyres. On dry road, braking from 50 to 0 kph under the same temperature condition will take 1.5m shorter with summer tyres than with winter tyre.

Test realised by TÜV SÜDin 2013 on dimension 205/55 16 H.

There is one type of winter certified tyre though that you can use through summer: the MICHELIN CrossClimate. It is the first summer tyre with winter certification. It is the best option for drivers who face sudden weather change and occasionally experience snowfall.
