Probably delta as it makes use of the torque available from three phase(440v per coil). Wye is simply 3 coils of single phase, runs nice and smooth but no power.

Only thing I know , or at least I was told , about three phase is that, depending on how it’s wired , motors can drive in either direction and changing any two phases over will reverse the direction , again I was told this many years ago and have not tried it .
I stand to be corrected or told I am talking “shot” at any time by anyone who knows this is or isn’t factually correct.

Yes it’s definitely correct. A good spark will check phase rotation is according to the manufacturer before energising. This can be easily checked with the proper meter. Some gear / pumps etc doesn’t like to be run in reverse. So it’s important to get right.

Pretty sure that needs a star delta starter, I saw and old auger today thats 5kw with a star delta starter fitted
It a big old motor for direct online (DOL) starting.

The photo of the nameplate from the OP suggests 11A per phase run current in delta. If you were to start it in Delta / DOL it could draw anywhere between 55 and 66 Amps.

Simple test is will it trip the breaker in DOL start.
