Hello everyone!
We have been running on Agridata for years now but due to the firm not running anymore, we would like to move on to another software to register and record our beef and sheep herd!
what simple software's are there on the market , nothing too fancy just to register our calves and keep record of the sheep!
thanks for any recommendations!

They've promised to completely change it with something new this year.

It's quite simple. I'm a idiot and I manage it.
Its been needing completely overhauled for years! I've been looking for a change for a while as well, probably going to give ilivestock a try, in my experience software updates always take much longer than they say

Just for reference if anybody wants to move on from Agridata, we developed an import routine so that you can bring in your data into our free trial. Agridata has always been an excellent program and originated way back with us in the 90s! It’s just a shame that they seem to have faded away? We have had a lot of Agridata customers hop over to us over the last couple of years. Just to show my impartiality, there are a wealth of options out there now the newer most recent additions to the market, obviously being Agriweb, Breedr, and Herdwatch all app based Systems. Although we do have a Web app, our software is more PC based with a traditional Windows environment and functionality, but I think the most important thing is support! That is what I am delighted to say we thrive on so if there is anybody out there that wishes to move on from Agridata, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with no obligation whatsoever , just happy to help

Farm matters every time great package and the back up is second to none. Been with them for a few years no and never looked back.
Not Shearwell, its terrible, hasn't been updated for years.

We currently use it.
I was with shearwell for years and got on well with it at the time but there refusal to move with the times and not update there software drove me away from them to agriwebb.
Agriwebb promised the world and delivered nothing as soon as I had signed up with them even to the point they messed up all the calf registrations with bcms for alot of users and had to approach BCMS to get a letter for there users to confirm they had messed up and we would not be penilazed for there mess up.
Farm matters is very progressive as well as not being anywhere near as expensive as some of the other software packages and if there is something the app doesn't do they will make the alterations to make it do it sometimes within the week.
I would urge you to contact Neil and get him to transfer the data onto the free trial and give it ago I would be amazed if you don't like it but if you don't just delete it at the end of the trial.

Farm matters.
We were with sum-it for 20 years plus and was getting increasing fed up of fobbed off answers to when i wanted to do more with our data from our pedigree suckler herd.

They acted on suggestions within days of me suggesting them, that I wanted and had been asking Sum-it for years.
Farm matters worked at it and got a fair chunk of data over from sum-it.

, in essence we have took a slightly backward step in terms of farm management software as we now have to double entry, eg enter for accounts and good bought for beef, arable ect, but im getting far more from our info, be it I'm learning slowly.
Most importantly you can easily talk to FarmMatters, i have been made to feel like a valued client who Neil wants to hear from with any ideas to make FarmMatters better.
Unlike our previous supplier where i was felt like someone who was there to make money out of. Sorry if that's a bit harsh against them. just the way I felt when I was asking for a better system.

FarmMatters isnt perfect, always room for improvements. looking forward to what more they can do.

Yes we can communicate with TruTest equipment. We can either use Bluetooth or the csv import option.
As said just download the trial and have a play and get in touch. I honestly cant stress enough that there is zero obligation or hassle from me what so ever just here to offer my experience and advice. If you like what we do and how we do it then great ! If not then that's fine no problem... but we will try very hard to keep you happy !

All the best and if anyone out there wants to chat just get in touch anytime.

We use Farmplan at the moment. it does everything we need but not always easy to get to the info that we’re looking for. After asking for sometime we eventually got an app on the phone so some records are always at hand. However we’ve been asking for over a year for the animals weight to be available on the app so we can have them to hand while in the field, this has fallen on def ears.
If we moved over to Farm Matters can the farm plan data be moved over? Especially weighing’s and the low frequency EID tag linking the animalS number to the tag?

Yes we have a Farmplan import routine so we can get your data across onto the trial for you just need a backup e mailed to me [email protected]

I am going to be rather frank and have a rant !

unfortunately these days all those traditional values of being able to have a relationship with your suppliers and contacts seems to be extinct ! Which makes me a dinosaur! These days it’s hard enough finding a telephone number on a website never mind having to put up with hours of nonsense even if you do !

unfortunately this has conditioned people to expect nothing better … well I have spent the last few decades trying to prove that not all companies have forgotten to take care of their customers and actually have pride in what they do. We have generated our customers from years of hard work and positive testimonies which have spread the good word. We dont advertise and there is no way we can compete with the new app companies out there for advertising clout ! But what we can do is continue to play to our strength and that is customer relationships and support. When you call Farmmatters you get me ! And that goes for all hours … I am regularly helping farmers at night with problems and I take great pride and enjoyment in knowing I have helped.

yes there are lots of software options out there and that’s great but … to all listening … there are also people out there who are honest as the day is long and want to help 👍 so when I say anyone can get in touch anytime I mean it. Just here to help simple

rant over sorry ! Ha

I totally agree with this Neil. I wish we could go back to the days of people's word being there bond and personal relationships within a business setting and building trust with a specific person within businesses we work with and not being passed pillar to post and noone taking responsibility for what they say anymore. I would not class myself as being old by any means but things are turning the wrong way quickly in this country.
Christ you started me on a rant and all.

This is why I use farm matters there is no B.S. you say it how it is and do what you say and when I find something you can't do I know you will tell me you can't and not promise you will get it sometime in the future and not deliver.
