Does anyone have experience of screening woodchip, using either trommel or flat deck vibrating screen ? Trying to make best use of on farm timber but warned off trying to chip hardwood as oversize slivers likely to jam the boiler feed augur.

It was our chipping contractor with a heizohack that was reluctant to put hardwood through it even though he does G30 softwood. So looking for options in the event of getting it chipped and finding
unsuitable material.

Sounds like your chipping contractor is a bit of a pratt. If you have any problems give me a shout as I do hardwood to G30 spec with my heizohack with no difficulty whatsoever.

£150/hr for chipping, doing 20 - 25t timber/hr. It"s BSL approved chip as we are registered as self suppliers using own timber and any purchased chip comes from supplier on BSL register. How do chipping rates compare to your own ?

Could certainly work at those chipping rates although we do have a minimum charge of £250 per day plus fuel. Does that £150/hr include forwarding trailer and crane.
