Woodchip - Self Supplier

Sorry about all the question but just after buying one have you ever had to replace the hydraulic motor on it I have a found that when it's pulling in anything with a bend the top feed roller stops and it doesnt seem to really be sucking them in

The rollers aren’t that powerful to be honest and it’s not a machine that likes bendy or a lot of branch wood.

But similar to what renewablejohn said, they’re powered by the same pump and that’s what’s it capable of. If it won’t go in, reverse it and try a different angle. Unless it’s jammed on something the knives themselves do a lot of the pulling, as you’ll find with blunt knives, they stop pulling the last bit of the log in.

I will upload a video later to give you an idea what i mean its not feeding as nearly as well as the other pto wood chipper I have worked with. The knives defiantly need sharpening though

I know exactly what you mean, they’re just not very powerful on anything other than straight lengths. Try lifting the length up, that can force it to feed sometimes.

Haven’t used ours in over 10 months now though. Managed to time the contractor with the big chipper successfully since we started using him.
