wool falling out of this years ryeland ewe lamb

one of our ryeland ewe lambs wool has started to fall out unexpectedly. it started about 3 weeks ago. its definitely not scab and theres no maggots in sight. the wool that first fell off (pictured) has now started to grow back. it looks just like its self shearing but ryelands arent a self shearing breed. does anyone know what this could be?

photos are from when we first spotted it, its gotten a lot worse since then.

Whats its ears like?

I would go with flystrike and the weather/ temp has killed them off. Noticed on of our Chevs has a clump of wool hanging off (just above her lovely looking dags) and on closer inspection it looked the same as in your picture
