I know its been done before but i cant find it for shite,

Tried DB late last year (after using them year before successfully) no response as it was 'out of season'

rung local rep yesterday, left a message heard nothing, tried ringing the number on their website and it sounds like its abroad and no answer!

Plus people on here said they were shite at paying last year

So who else is there, i used to go to bradford hyde but they got slower at paying and less interested...

dont say BWMB as i dont have to patience to wait 2 years to get paid, last time i took it there i got half of DB value.

If the wool value is a factor in your cash flow calculations then you probably shouldn’t be farming sheep. Sorry, but that’s the truth of the matter.
where are you sending yours,

obviously i can wait i just cant be arsed with bwmb, would be nice to get your money as its taken in and graded.

I always send mine to the auction system as I don’t want the trade to be ruined. If you’re happy to get the extra penny this year and find the market crashed later, go for it with the indys.

British Wool are getting to be less trusted, not just the price paid to producer, but the salaries and fixed cost's where I payment on performance was taken into account.
Has any one else had this years grading? Very puzzled by the weights. 525kgs weighed in, 3 bales, graded weight 440kgs. Now what does a sheet weigh, even at 5kgs that leaves 70 kgs unaccounted for.

Who do I enquire for an explanation.

Give them a buzz at Evanton. I’d guess there’s maybe something off for vegetation and shyte but wouldn’t know.

Yes the fixed costs are high, but that’s all the more reason to make sure we all send it there - still needs same number of Chairmen if it’s double the wool.

Try Laurence Pierce (Wool Merchants) Ltd. They have depots thought the UK. Payment within 7 days. To find your local collection centre look on their website or wool.ie.

All il say on the matter is to be very careful as the main opposition to the wool board up here went burst last year leaving their producers unpaid. They were offering what looked a good price compared to what the board were offering but that’s not much use if you don’t get paid. A little bit of something is better than a lot of nothing.

Let’s be honest we are keeping all these wool traders and board officials in lucrative jobs, they are the only people (except the clippers who earn their money) who benefits from the wool industry certainly not the farmers. In my opinion it’s time we had a year or so of just composting it and giving the whole industry a reboot, if they want it in the future fair enough then stop treating us like cash cows, if not then we need not keep any more parasites and just compost it. Imo there are nobody in the wool board that earns enough for their suppliers to warrant six figure salaries yet they still think that they are worth it.

100 per cent , why should we keep them in a job , if it's not worth anything despose of it.
