Work trousers

Wanting some new ones, softer material because the skin on one leg is very thin, not a ridiculous amount of pockets, but not like the last ones I bought, where the pockets empty themselves when I sat on sofa. What do I look for?

Quite like the cargo trousers I got from Tesco recently, not as heavy a material as dickies etc, comfortable but seem hard-wearing

I often find offers in builders merchants.maybe I’m an odd size,38 waist but I’ve picked up dickies and another well know brand whose name I cannot currently recall fir around £10 pair.when I’m with builders I often collect materials so usually have a look at the offers.

Englebert Strauss, not the cheapest but last for years
Doesn’t meet the “softer material” criteria, as all Strauss workwear is thick poly cotton* which is quite abrasive and doesn’t wick sweat. Other than that it’s really well made...

*-the only cotton Strauss workwear is the decorators bib and brace. Great for looking like an oompah loompa.

Craghoppers kiwi trousers, the best working trouser I have used!
They are the fastest drying trousers I know, you can get drenched one minute five minutes later the sun comes out, and they dry on your legs.......
Another vote for Craghoppers Kiwis, good and lightweight in the summer. I get about three years out of a pair
These, can bit a bit cold in winter though (y)
There's a lined winter version, or you could wear a pair of cheap leggings underneath.

However, I have worn a hole in mine and can't get my size online at the moment so have bought a pair of Site King cargo trousers which seem to be fine although I've only had 'em a week.

Your loose change down the back?

+ 1 for Englebert Strauss - or ex-military (not camo  and not fashion copies). I've bought German or Austrian from here https://www.flecktarn.co.uk/solidcolours_olive_trousers.html
but if you do, try and avoid walking like Basil Fawlty.......:scratchhead:

I'm a 38 waist, and am always amazed I cant find that size in a pile of trousers. Bigger, smaller, but not 38. It is either an uncommon size that is not made, or common so it sells out.
