Like a lot of farms in South Wales, my son in law has, according to NCB, over three million tons of coal not too far under the surface. The seam comes to the surface in one place. I keep telling him that one day coal will be able to be burnt cleanly and they'll want it.With all the quality coal still in South Wales, surely a way could be found to burn it in power stations cleanly in this day and age. Do like like the smell of coal smoke on the wind, I find it weirdly comfortingCan still buy anthracite, and I believe coal for commercial use.
