Do we know what other breeds they were up against @llamedos and their details eg hanging time, age, feed etc. ? Interesting this as your sometimes led to believe that grass finished is better and that a traditional breed is better than the continental etc and the longer the hanging time etc. Yet I have heard this from farming friends before when they compared (I think) limmy to AA and preferred the limmy finished on grain.

Not surprised about the rib eye coming tops for the cut - more intra muscular fat!

Best steak I ever had was in Vancouver a few years back . Just bog standard supermarket rib eye , plenty of fat which was as yellow as a buttercup , being maize fed . B in L just chucked on the barbecue just outside the door , in a most casual manner , flipped it over a bit quick and put it on the plate . Lovely ! TBF I had a rib eye from the co-op last week , (they had a refurb of premises offer on and gave me a fiver back on my order of over £15.00 ), Hereford and 28 day aged . white fat , and that was bit of alright too .
