worlds gone mad

Not exactly related to this story but I remember as a child approx 40 years ago we had a cow/heifer/bullock not sure which slip over the river bank and got tangled in a tree. The fire brigade were called out to rescue it and I can remember the smiles on their faces when dad expressed his thanks by taking a slab of beer out for them to drink which they did there and then. No doubt that would be extremely frowned upon/forbidden nowadays.

Palm oil= monkey killer, or, more precisely orangutan killer. Not very vegetarian after all.

I've deleted Facebook, if I had to witness one more person check into somewhere or tell someone they had the best spouse in the world and they loved them from the bottom of their heart (when they were probably sat next to them of the settee) then I was going to shoot myself in the face :arghh:
I certainly ain't deleted it but I know what you mean, posts like "only the people that care will read and share this" and numerous other such examples.

I also scratch my head at how one local farmers wife funds her lifestyle, not many days she ain't checking into somewhere or other.

But hey ho let them post, helps keep me up with all the gossip.:p

Why do you want to tell everyone where you're checking into?! Especially the hospital :banghead:
And I don't give a sh!t what you're having for tea and that you're going on holiday in 2 days 30 minutes and 2 seconds :shifty:

Best thing is to keep your friends list to about 5, such as big sis who likes to keep up with family photos, etc, and only join groups you are interested in. I belong to various farming/stationary engine/ old tractor pages and it is very useful for finding odd bits you need and seeking advice. I was going to get rid of it altogether, but by pruning out most of the nonsense it has become a good resource.

I rarely check in anywhere, just keep an eye on what everyone else is up to.
I rarely post about anything I'm doing but do share a few funnies, it's good to smile right:D

I agree there's a lot of crap on Facebook and have even unfollowed a few groups/friends cos all they do is post crap but then again it also let's me see what friends from school days who I've since lost touch with are up to. You get to choose for yourself what you post and who you follow, you should be able to make it suit you.(y)
