It would probably of rolled the trailer over if they were strapped ongood decision not to strap them on
from what i could see it was not the tractor drivers fault the car driver didn't think!why is the traffic so slow he just saw it as an opportunity to pass slow moving traffic it wasn't as if the tractor had just pulled out he was well across the road . we have a couple of right hand turns on fast roads and it doesn't seem to matter to some motorists what you do they still risk life and limb to gain one minute we have three beacons on our combine and its bright yellow but on ass still said he didn't see itThe thought of someone coming up behind me when turning right or left was always on my mind back when I was in the seat. I used to get toward the middle of the road so people could see I was taking up the road. I'd slow down and signal ahead of time too. The worst thing you will do is get into the mindset that other traffic is rushing you, just a few seconds can give people the warning they need or time to spot indicators and the like.
The tractor might not be at fault but what consolation is that when having a potentially dead car driver seared into his memory all for the sake of a bit of mowing. How that car driver isn't dead I don't know.

Left it too late to overtake. Not sure what happened, truck driver required some medical attention, but nobody has been killedView attachment 894722

I think at that point it was clear the drivers were OK as they were out of their vehicles thought best to get traffic moving.Im suprised at how all the cars in front of the lorry didn’t even stop to make sure anyone was ok!!
Cripes hope that drivers ok, one thing I have noticed as this thread has gone on is the strength of the safety frame on these cabs, in days of old there would have been many fatalities looking at the state of some of the tractors but cabs have remained relatively intact. Look at the state of the lorry cab above compared to the tractor as an example. Not sure what happened, truck driver required some medical attention, but nobody has been killedView attachment 894722

What idiots, that was a nasty but perfectly saveable situation if they had got jacks and wooden blocks under that track they could have then manoeuvred it to get it squared up and they should have closed the road to start with, I was cringing at the bloke with the cones not even looking at the digger.Plumbers NZ | Meanwhile.... Lucky if they got out of that and bloody lucky not to take someone else out as they crossed the carriageway!
Guessing mechanical failure due to the lack of skid marks?
It’s not unheard of in a NH with key switch where it is for it to be knocked off with your knee!!! Worse still if you manage to break it off in the ignition!!!
