The law dictates the speed we can drive at depending on how wide or how heavey we are not us. You got to be kinda special if you think the tractor driver was at fault here.
Well obviously the tractor isn't directly at fault, I never said he/she was.

But we don't know the full story.

Who knows how long the Mini has been stuck behind the tractor for? I'm going to guess a while based on how risky (and dumb) the manouver was.

We don't know how many cars were stuck behind the Mini. I'd say lots.

I know tractors are busy. Everyone is. But why should x amount of people be held up for 10/15/20 minutes because some tractor drivers are too pig headed to move over and let them pass safely? And then bitch and moan when people make unsafe attempts to pass.

Yes I have tractors, yes I drive on the road, yes I deal with traffic on narrow roads. Some car drivers are impatient. A lot of tractor drivers think they own the road and can hold everyone up without a care in the world about what's going on behind them....like cyclists.

A bit of courtesy goes a long way.

But like I said, we don't know the full story. For all we know, the Mini driver could have had their head down looking at their phone.

The way the car hit it at speed it would suggest that he hadnt noticed the tractor in front, but regardless of whether he had been held up for a long time or not it never justifys a dangerous attempt to pass,

You're right, but impatience turns the most saintly of drivers into homicidal/suicidal maniacs. I'd like to see the police clamp down on eediots and cyclists needlessly impeding the flow of traffic, it would solve a lot of the worlds problems.

You're not wrong there. It's a funny old world we live in now, everyone seems to be in a rush and ultimately getting nowhere. Back to the 70's I say.

Earlier than that! I was thiiis close to becoming mincemeat when I was walking back from the school bus, once!

Idiot driver was pretending he was one of the Dukes of Hazard. I think myself incredibly lucky he wasn't drunk at the time, as well. There were plenty of drivers like that. The last ⅔rds of the 1970s were creeping awfulness in so many ways!

Try driving in Moscow...
Or Amman in Jordan. Complete chaos but again somehow works. Indicators voluntary, lanes - what lanes and roundabouts were a complete free for all. As for their motorways, the white lines had faded in the heat so you just go where you think the lane is.

And who in their right mind has speed humps on dual carriageways/motorways!! 😲 Was a bit interesting the first time I came across that concept at about 70mph. Fairly quickly worked out what the rather faded road sign for ‘speed hump ahead‘ was.
