Wreckers!!

A bit damp - the bridge is often mentioned on Radio 2 ‘coz of bridge strikes - had at least half a dozen this year so far, the road (A638) gets used a lot when the A1 dual carriageway between Doncaster and Darrington is blocked .

Love it.

Would it be better ringing the police as you left the field saying "I have finished my shift of work, and have something to report, can we meet?"
I did think of that. But more important was getting the tractor and combi to the field and off the highway.
I wasn’t even over the double white no overtaking lines, so it was obviously the car driver’s fault for trying to overtake the car in front of it.

I did wonder if the driver even noticed that her door skin was missing. The window was still wound up and the door card in place. Maybe that is why she didn’t stop.

Anyway, the Police took my side of the story in conjunction with the witness, that proved the car driver was at fault.

How the hell do you not notice an escort driver with a big sign saying wide load, with all its lights on, including hazards and a flashing orange beacon and the tractor with all its lights and beacons on, plus an extra beacon on the rh end of the combi, then still hit it?
Not forgetting that she was overtaking on a stretch of road that has a double continuous white line, prohibiting overtaking!

Don't you just love translations

'A scraped tractor with a trailer full of onions caused a delay on Monday morning at the Hannie Schaftweg in Emmeloord.

The colossus caught on the roundabout at the Pilotenweg, causing the tractor to turn 180 degrees. The left rear wheel turned deep into the roadside. The driver remained unharmed.

The trailer was slightly damaged and was taken away with another tractor. The load of onions was spared.'

Why would anyone want a dolly trailer like that

With a bit of skill and the right tractor it is easier to back a dolly trailer into a tight space. Not so great with a kid at the wheel or a big numb tractor though.

Edit: And weight. You can basically move a trailer around with a MF 135 with a dolly that if it was done with a UK style trailer would have the front axle bobbing around in the air if it were put on the drawbar. Some places pick-up hitches aren't as common as they are here.
