It's not good, too much money outstanding mainly from dairy cow sales apparently. Why don't people learn to not buy if they can't afford ?

Dealers owing massive amounts..... they’re who are ballsing the job up.
And those farmers standing behind dealers around the ring begging dealers to buy certain cows for them pee me off.
Not specifically at Beeston but at most places round here

Why don't auctioneers learn not to take bids from dealers or farmers who haven't paid up their account ? No sympathy with the auctioneers. They are quite happy to use dealers to drive up prices and make their averages look good.

If it carries on like this there will be no markets left, every farmer really needs to support there local market before it is too late. Once gone they will not come back again.

Farmers are the biggest culprits in this instance apparently

There is Market Drayton some 16 or so miles away and Shrewsbury a bit further on . Oswestry
But further north of there no so sure whats on offer - Chelford

The dairy sellers moved from Mkt Drayton a few months ago ,and landed up at Beeston ,although I was told they originally had planned to go to Shrewsbury from Drayton. That was allegedley down to buyers not stumping up in time !

There’s a very strange arrangement which goes on with regular buyers.
They buy cattle, but don’t pay.
When they sell these cattle through the market, the payout is profit less original cost plus interest.

But no one seems to have factored in a loss rather than a profit.

Absolute load of rubbish, I know the Shrewsbury auctioneer and he made them an offer they couldn’t resist. Why they never went to Shrewsbury only they themselves know. I suspect they will be kicking themselves now.

There will be ,and probably unwise to speculate , As Grassman says , the dairy auctioneers may well regret not going to Shrewsbury ,but they were returning to old ground in Beeston ,so perhaps felt it was more like going home

I guess it either puts a bottom in the market, or a top in the market report.
Never been involved in that way.
But no use to anyone if the animals lose money.

if the markets are going to go in to unsecured banking then I spose they have to take the risks that come with it
