im curious to know if i rented out land for xmas trees could i still claim sfp on those acres?

Nurseries can claim BPS

Page 28: Nurseries These are areas of young woody plants grown in the open air, on soil, in greenhouses or under poly-tunnels for later transplantation. They include: • vine and root stock nurseries • fruit tree and berry nurseries • ornamental nurseries • commercial nurseries of forest trees (except those for the holding’s own requirements grown in woodland) • nurseries of trees and bushes for planting in gardens, parks, at the roadside and on embankments Nursery crops do not include Christmas trees, unless they are grown in nurseries for later transplantation

I think Xmas trees are classed as agricultural, not a forestry crop so you might be able to.

You definitely can still claim bps for 20 years following a woodland creation project on an ag holding.
