Four members of the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs (SAYFC) are hoping to impress viewers with their culinary talent during Quality Meat Scotland’s ‘Virtual Highland 2020’, as they battle it out in the final of a national cooking competition.

Ally and Lianne Brunton from Balmonth Farm from East Fife JAC will compete against Murray and Penny Stephens from Turriff JAC during the 45-minute competition which will be hosted on the Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) and SAYFC social channels on Sunday, June 21 at 1:00pm.

The siblings will be challenged to cook a delicious dish using Specially Selected Pork which has been supplied by their local Scotch Butchers Club member.

The audience will be able to vote for their winner from the comfort of their homes by commenting on their favourite team.

QMS chief executive Alan Clarke said: “We’re delighted to be hosting SAYFC’s virtual cooking competition, which is sure to be great fun.

It is fantastic to see the next generation of our industry taking such pride in cooking and promoting our brands and we hope our Scotch Kitchen website will provide a great source of inspiration for other farmers in the weeks and months to come.

SAYFC chief executive Penny Montgomerie said: “I am sure our creative members will take the challenge head-on to prove themselves as the culinary experts within their regions. SAYFC look forward to seeing the Specially Selected Pork meals created.”
