Didn't you catch the snow in the gauge, melt it then add it to the tally

Seem to be able, it's been spread pretty steadily over the last 24 hours & was announced on the local BBC news programme this evening, but red sky tonight so maybe things are looking up a bit forecast for next week is looking a whole lot better.
