bit of sheep rape land was dry enough to sow yesterday morning but after a afternoon/night of gale force winds 60mph+ snow then heavy rain looking out the window now it's light i think i'll need a jetski to go around the stock rather than the landrover

Blowing a hooley, and not raining.
A good day of this and I reckon that the sprayer might travel.
But there's rain forecast for tonight :(
And anyway, the wind speed's not forecast to drop below 20mph until Christmas day afternoon.

Carmarthenshire since October's moonsoon, cold, torrential downpours 4 times a week, severe gales almost daily. Hopefully things balance themselves out.

We have had periods of seriously heavy rain since the drought finished in my view. Yes there have been some 3-4 day spells of dry weather. But when it rains it is very heavy coupled with strong winds.
2 fields reseeded here in late September. (Will never again sow so late in season). Since that storm Callum which washed ruts in the field. It has been weekly event of soil washing from the field onto the farm road during heavy rain. Seeds have mostly established well, but come spring there will be a lot of areas to harrow out the ruts and reseed. And as for the lime, probibly in Carmarthen bay.

Only one small shower today and even a bit of sunshine . 264 mm from the start of November so pretty depressing . I thought it was wet last year but had 89 mm over the same period .

Don't think we would have anything left if we got that amount, we've had half of it and every where is bloody wet. The only thing saving us is the nice dry summer.

Luckily all the autumn drilling established in excellent conditions and , so far , is putting up with the rain.
Last year everything sat in water as soon as it was drilled and never got over it . Then in the spring we went from water logged to droughted out within about six weeks resulting in dire yields.
It's chucking down again now.
