Scorchio and east windio. Wheat starting to look like it’s been round upped to halfway up the stems. Not good. Won’t need to mow the lawns this weekend. No hay making this year either. Having a tidy up. Nett result of 12 weeks work on the veg patch :- two small radishes so strong they blow your head off.

Just gone and mown my haylege field . About 4 acres and not a bad crop considering (its had no sheep on it) Windy very warm very sunny ,great if you have a big paddling pool in the garden.
Looked at Weatherweb and talk of thunderstorms and metcheck gives a few days of light rain , BBC is a bit more reserved ,although BBC tends to suddely change moods like me !!

I am wondering if Weds will be a bit mizzley all day and then Thurs will brighten up again . Mind you the colder weather from the north will alter things and I am not sure if it isnt going to be a bit mizzly for a few days Weds on into next Sun - Mon

In North Cumbria looks like a little bit of rain from Tuesday evening until Wednesday morning.... Looks all a bit hitty missy with showers on the long range forecast for the next few days after Wednesday ....this 23oc and wind is just burning everything up here. Going to chance getting some moisture and getting some aftercut fert on the silage fields tomorrow

Yes , my baler man said he was going to get his silage done in the last day or 2 (he finished ours on Friday )
Spoke to him today and he said there wasnt enough to bother cutting it !!! Just Timothy and Cocksfoot and a bottom growth of thickish grass only about 5 ins high

Measured 7mm in a bowl that got left out so far today, rained since 6.30 this morning so should do some good. It will boost hay crops and 2nd cuts more so than grazing ground i would of thought.
