This isn't intended to be a willy waving competition for farm size by the way. More a look at how diverse our sector is in size and types. A brief overview of what your business is and numbers of stock and acres of arable?

If your 'part time' or have other work then mention it.

I'll kick off.

2000 blackie ewes (half kept pure, half crossed with blue), 500 BF ewe lambs kept as replacements, 400 scotch mules (crossed with texel). All lambs sold fat or breeding and 80 mainly Lim x sucklers put to Charolais bull with calves sold at 7 months.. Zero arable.

400 breeding ewes, comprising of NC mules, Texels amd Lleyns, although moving away from the Mules. Mules to Suffolk tups, white faces to Charollais tups.

80 sucklers, with calves at foot, all to Limousin bulls. 80 yearlings, half of which will be sold as stores, half kept for fattening. 40 being fattened at the minute.

On about 400 acres of grassland, also own about 120 acres of arable in a separate block. Just me and my uncle, except at lambing when we have help from a young lad nearby.

40 April lambing ewes
3 ped Hereford heifers and a Hereford bull
Tractor driver/will work for anyone who pays me.

Family farm which is unsurprisingly a complicated setup roughly 200 beef cattle -- 30 odd sucklers, bought in calves everything sold as stores.
On about 110 acres with a fair bit of silage ground and grazing rented here and there.

Just over 600 went to the tup last year, which included 130 ewe lambs. Mostly highlanders, a few pure charollais and 100 draft cheviots. Put to Highlander, a Logie and Charollais tups. Breeds own replacements and finish all lambs. 250 acres in cereal and forage crops. Me, partish time retired dad and use of some contractors.
