Cannot find anyone in the uk who imports / sells the rust proofing stuff. Any ideas? think it will be mega expensive to import from USA. or maybe Germany, but I do not speak German. Reason I want some is to rust proof my new pickup chassis when it comes,as this was the best rust proofer of its time in the 70`s.

You sure your pickup will not already be waxed?......

Have always found Waxoil to be poor, moisture gets underneath it and rusts but still looks okay. Generaly use Fluid Film which is Lanolin based but needs doing 3 times a year. Many decades ago when I worked in a Garage, the cars that had been Ziebarted did not need welding for their first MOT like most other cars at the time. there was another rust inhibitor called Dinitroll but I did not rate it as well.

Best??? didnt they go out of business due to corroding cars that they were supposed to protect.

Another vote for fluid film, I use it on my lathe and mill, spray it on the shiny bits and it stops them going rusty from the condensation.
It's more expensive than waxoyl type stuff for chassis but I don't have much faith in waxoyl any more, I sprayed loads of it on my landrover and now I can peel off a bit of the waxoyl and it is still rusting underneath.
So it will be getting a good squirt of Fluidfilm soon.

Well propper finigans waxoyl used to be great stuff
Has its quality changed
What ever is used has to be non setting and wants to creep
Does standard shulzt set ? U dont want something that peels then water gets behind

shulzt does set but lasts longer than waxol
Heard once that waxol did a trawler grade that was better.
I going to try the lanolin product next, it gets rave reviews down under

I bought a brand new Vauxhall Cavilier diesel when they first came out in 1983. The only brand new car that I have had before or since. Paid to have the Ziebart treatment, but sadly it got written off at 3 years old when a transit didn't give way at a crossroads. Still got the Ziebart certificate somewhere....!
