Elanco are insisting on a fixed price on farm from the trade but on line pharmacies are cheaper than the suggested price already so not sure where it will end up. None available until mid July either. On allocation only it seems too. Rest assured, if we are made to buy £50k worth then we are not going to be dearer than the online guys..

Interesting where the merchants price it. Novartis insist it won't be any cheaper, but proof is in the pudding.

I picked some up from Wynnstay a couple of days ago, to use for quarantine drenching. Price was £99/500ml or £158/1 litre bottle. They had a special card to fill in where I had to state what I was using it for and how many sheep I was going to treat (had to read the bottle for the answer to that one:rolleyes:), then that card is returned to Elanco.

Elanco are also doing a resistance surveillance program on Zolvix, which is presumably part of getting the licence changed. A group of lambs is to be FEC'ed, drenched with Zolvix, then FEC checked again in a fortnight's time. The same farms will be repeating the test in 5 years time to see if anything has changed.

I always thought Zolvix was the last line of defence. Sounds like it's in regular use now?
Hope not, bought my first last winter to quarantine drench new flock of commercial ewes n will use again on New flock of texels to arrive in next couple of weeks. Hope plenty like me only drench when its needed, we still use white drench on occasion to good effect. I see Iga saliva test may be cheap enough to start selecting for worm resistance which should encourage people to buy highly rated rams.

Give it a couple of years and the assembled muppets will have ruined it . . . .

They would have to be very rich muppets to throw it about like some other drenches have been in the past.
A lamb dose costs 4 or 5 times the price of clear or yellow drenches, so unlikely to see widespread use, unless you are forced to by having resistance to everything else. Even then, I'd be using sequential drenches with the cheaper products as much as I could.
