ZON Test

The annoying thing is that we paid for the DON test when we got the wheat in the shed only to be told now that we need the ZON test which could have been done at the same time instead it will be another £30 per sample.

The whole of my areas office knew nothing about it as I rang the office so who ever makes these sweeping requirements isn't publishing it very well to the trade or us producers at all.

Gleadells will know all about it. What you should have said was, your rep knew nothing about it.

Is it one miller wanting it initially? It has been on the standard grain passport since 2011

Is DON charged for by Merchants, don't think we've ever been charged?

We've seen every combination of numbers scribbled on passports.

e.g. 150 as a RA score, with a DON result of 7

Can a FA audit ask for evidence to back up the numbers written in boxes on growers' passports?

Millers needing a RA score, a DON result and a ZON result is going to be a recipe for chaos for farm-stored wheat, with hauliers bearing the brunt.

Really? Why? it’s just one more test I cannot see why where the storage is makes any difference.
