Are the grains actually coloured then? Can't say I know a great deal about it.
Two years ago I cut some Cordiale at about 14% protein and 13% moisture. The grains go a kind of flinty hard, and deep golden colour. These look very similar. Drilled 22nd April. Cut end August. Fairly inexpensive to grow in terms of nitrogen and infact all but seed. Will only really know when we get the samples back. Yielded simlar to a good crop of rape - about 3t/ha in the very dead sand bits to 5t/ha in the more bodied land. Hoping for 4.4t/ha average. But profit depends entirely on hitting the spec. First time growers. Would make a decent margin if it yielded 4.5t/ha each year.
