Where did you buy the putanges?? Easy to set? Been reading up and they sound better than the 'duffus' style traps!
Got a few pesky critters dodging traps thinking these may catch them easier

Theflatpack ones are worth the extra money. One thing I find with barrel traps is that sometimes cheap ones need the spring tweaking with a pliers, especially if they are being set off but no mole caught.
If the spring is not strong enough the mole will wriggle out.

Easy to set and caught a few. Don't need to be very fussy how big a hole you dig. Needs to be big enough to angle the trap in especially if it's deep. I stuff them up and use a stick in each trap rather than how it's done in the pics. Only set them for second time tonight! But think I might have tied the string a little on the short side! I'll see how the traps do over the next couple days maybe some adjustment needed.
Gaffer came in with 6 traps thismorning, saying I have a new job for you [emoji849] any tips for a novice on finding best place to set traps, all new traps I've heard people say they need to be buried in soil first to get rid of smell or is that rubbish, also what do you use to cover your traps? The sod you've dug out or heard of people using a piece of slate [emoji57] if you have a lot of hills in field would it be better to harrow down first so you can see the fresh hills and set in between

You've had it now you're hooked,believe me.
No going back, you will become obsessed.
Bought a dozen Pest Off ones as recommended on here.
They are good and have already paid for themselves many times over.
Problem we have is bloody badgers stealing the traps with a mole in it.
Currently caught 67 up to today this winter.
Ah, last year I found a hole with no mole trap in it, then funnily enough months later I found a mole trap laying in the field. I guessed the trap had caught a mole and something had dug it up to eat the mole, so it was a badger was it?
