Surprising how profitable some of the 3500 litre once a dayers are compared to 10000litre high cost systems. As ever there are good and bad in all systems, but there seems to be a bit of a trend over here that at lower outputs it is easier to make a profit.

What are your yields like over in oz?

Once a dayers would not survive in most dairy industries in the world.

Hey they may be able to survive in some easy dairy industries and good for them.

It's funny though, they still have production. I'm waiting for someone who makes massive profit with zero yield since it has no improtantance according to a lot of people here.

Yet another bolloks quote from clay.

OAD systems have been developed in NZ to combat low prices and the unsociable hours associated with dairying that results in high staff turnover. It's becoming increasingly popular over here as well. Sadly the great Pioneer of OAD, Colin Holmes, died last year.

Obviously a herd that sells no milk will be unprofitable but that doesn't mean there is a strong link between yield and profitability.

Here's a bit of UK data for you. As you will clearly see there is a far stronger correlation between COP and profitability than there is anything else.
