General Election

Totally agree; consummate avoider of questions and professional windbag, usually heard spouting claptrap and with no concept of what life may be like outside London and outside her own little left wing world.
You've got your own version with Leanne Wood. I always thought Kinnock (Neil) won the prize but she's defo overtaken him

Has anyone else actually seen the clip of when she said she wouldn't have a general election?
She was being interviewed, aggressively, as all politicians seem to be now, and stated that she had no intention of holding a quick election. The interviewer badgered and badgered her, until she she said "I won't be holding a snap election". Clearly not what she was meaning to say.
But then how 'snap' is an election 11 months after she became prime minister?
Those interviewers are prats. Trying to trip up people with there stupid questioning and then reporting what was said out of context!

If you think Leanne Wood is trappy, just try listening to Mrs Yackerty herself, Kirsty Williams of the Lib Dems in Wales. The woman never shuts up, like some sort of Duracell powered animated professional politician.

Always thought that the Kinnocks were the epitome of champagne socialists, once left wing exponents of equality and champions of the under privileged, but latterly quite happy to be riding along in first class carriages on the European gravy train. Animal Farm comes to mind.

NFU are now totally irrelevant to kost working farmers sadly.

They have no Brexit policy, no idea what to do about farm support post Brexit other than scrapping direct payments and instead proposing very costly and totally unworkable stewardship schemes that will be impossible to implement at farm level or for Defra/ NE etc to administer easily.

Trouble ref the GE/ Brexit talks with the NFU is that once the GE is over the new Government will then shut down until end of Sept which is just the time that the NFU top team will start looking to their own elections in Feb 18 and thus with the likes of GS/ MB etc fighting for themselves and re-election the NFU will have no leadership in the crucial months when it is more needed than it has been for a generation of farmers!

And to add insult to injury, all SNP MP's abstained from the election ratification vote today. All they want is independence!! Scotland is a lovely place and I have many friends and contacts north of the border, but maybe Westminster should afford them independence and then let's see how they get on.

The once in a generation ref in 2014 gave a vote to Remain. SNP is following the EU example of following Robert the Bruce's spider. Not fair on the who voted Remain in their once in a generation ref to let them have another go so soon. We waited over 40 years for a second chance at ditching the EU.

speculation ithat if they loose any seats it'll put pay to anymore 'indyref'....ch4 news tonight....snp confident on winning remaining 3 though
all of the islands ,shetland ,orkeney etc all voted overwheminly for brexit,11 of the snp seats voted for brexeit, plus then there are a lot of people who dont want indyref 2,so losing upto 10 seats is entirly possible

OH pointed out that Mr. Salmond may actually be in trouble - his patch is full of fisherman and they are seriously not amused at the prospect of EU boats remaining in our waters, as they would if Scotland were independent. Actually I have to laugh eveytime that histronic little haggis says the word "independent". :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: :scratchhead: What is independent about Brussels telling you what to do? She must know something the rest of us don't.

(Edit: I humbly apologise for any offense caused to any haggis who may be reading this post.)
