Quad/ rappa fencer/ winder type thingy

So this year I've been offered and taken on more and different grazing for the sheep. Downside being that it's mostly ex dairy ground so the fencing is shall we say minimal!
I've been looking at some of the videos on line for the Rappa winder that attaches to the quad- what are peoples opinions on them- do they come up second hand/ best place to buy etc....

I'm also on the look out for a quad, again would appreciate peoples opinions on what's good and what's worth avoiding! Looking at a budget of approx. 2K for this- would that get me something half tidy?

Many thanks in advance

You won't get a Rappa cheaper than £1k so that means you need to find a quad for £1k - which is eminently possible.

So i'd say buy the Rappa and look out for a quad. Some of these quad companies might be quite pleased to shift an old quad for £1k if they don't have to give a warranty
Rappa fencing machine is good but someone needs to make/ import an alternative - they seem to be able to charge what they want for them. I fancy prices have gone up a lot over the last few years.

Thanks all, just re read my post and I meant a budget of 2k for the quad, looking at the rappa I'm resigned to paying about 1k for the system, but as already stated there doesn't seem to be too many about second hand so that tells its own story I would have thought. @neilo can I move the thread into the livestock section or do I have to re post a new one? Many Thanks

A moderator could move the thread over wholesale, if you ask them nicely. @llamedos

You wont regret the Rappa system, buy it

I bought 2 quads years ago at about £1000 each and they are still going strong----they don't have to be anything fancy for fencing as you are just going to pootle along slowly . Don't get hung up over the make ---just the best value 2nd hand junker you can find

We bought a secondhand rappa years ago it's still going strong and it's done loads of work
Things like the gearbox are cheap enough to buy if it's knackered on a secondhand machine

As previously stated, you won't regret buying a Rappa.
I agree with comments about competition needed, the Kiwitech system looks very good but might not work so well in heavy winter conditions, is anyone using this system over big distances in the winter ?
