Just picked up the latest copy of Classic Tractor and was reading the dyno test part and seen this, surely a "standard" tractor wouldn't leave the factory with 40hp more than what it is meant to?

Not that much surely? I know our T5060 gained about 10hp after 3000hours

What about the fastrac that's gained 100hp with a re map. Surely that's asking for trouble

Years ago many ford/new Holland 8340 were always over powered. One fitter I used to know said he never saw 1 under 120 hp at the shaft.

One I always found strange was loads of tm155s putting out around 200hp with no problems. Then nh released the tm175 and tm190 and they were a disaster.

That's a very good point. Although from what i understand the later versions are very sorted tractors. Of course by then the reputation of them was in tatters.
Incidentally the last time our TM155 was on a dyno they had to chain it to a shed stanchion to stop the power of the TM flipping it over

It was the JCB Fastrac that made me a little concerned with its 50% increase in PTO power!!!
You would only need to worry if you were paying the repair bills

My factory standard 6620 was dynoed at 149hp at around 2500hrs. But when I got it new my 3050 had more oomph.........

Nothing wrong with abit of tuning but people go over board then it's the tractors fault when it breaks down..... They also remap, chip etc thinking they're only affecting the engine but forget about the backend
