Is more risky to chip older tractor or a new one then
Wouldn't chip either personally. Been there done that. Just have to accept you'll have to drop a few gears sometimes.

Good mate of mine says the likes of pre common rail jd 6910 you can up the power with no risk compared to upping the power of an jd r seriesWouldn't chip either personally. Been there done that. Just have to accept you'll have to drop a few gears sometimes.

Fleets of JD 6150R around here that have been re mapped, alot are near to 200HP,no problems apart from the usual head gaskets..Good mate of mine says the likes of pre common rail jd 6910 you can up the power with no risk compared to upping the power of an jd r series
SDF will want another few grand off the owner giving away horsesy powers like that
Folks across the way from us bought an ex demo JD6230, it was a good going tractor but then one day the JD fitter was out and he let it slip that it was a 6330 with 6230 stickersIt's been known some dealers to alter the badges and serial plates of tractors though just to sell something that's been on the books and owing them. Normally that has been selling something that is underpowered to what the bonnet badge says but it could go the other way around to shift it.
Fairly sure the Deutz K610 was the only 6 pot model in the K range but, I am not at all a Deutz follower but I do have a neighbour with one and if I am correct? How could the standard power be so far adrift from manufacturers spec? It's been known some dealers to alter the badges and serial plates of tractors though just to sell something that's been on the books and owing them. I'd say "classic" would have to be 50 years old +, anything younger is still "active" and in constant use.Can a 2010 tractor really be called a ' classic ' ?
