As an IH fan, get it sorted. That's surely cheaper and more practical than buying another tractor for the occasional tractor run and classic tractor show.stuck in low ta

Almost all tractors are capable of 25kph and yours should be about 30kph in working order. But let's assume 25kph for this exercise.thats what i might do....but it's still quite slow as the 4wd 885 is a gear slower than the 2wd 885.....plus it's not the speed on the run but the speed to /from the runs....this one was only mile from home but they typically 5-8 miles away
When I was at school a guy in my year lost his dad with a Fordson Major with a lorry engine that went like that until a tyre blew at full speed and found himself 6 ft deep for eternity!!!!Hold on, this should do....skip to 0.25...
Yeah, bound to be dangerous traveling at that speed with elderly tractors with wobbly steering, and iffy brakes. When I was at school a guy in my year lost his dad with a Fordson Major with a lorry engine that went like that until a tyre blew at full speed and found himself 6 ft deep for eternity!!!!

they will all do 30mph depends how long you want it to keep going forIH 74 series ( plus 84 & 85 etc ) were available with 4 different speed boxes.
The fastest 574s I've clocked at over 30mph with 12/38 wheels.
And old and perished tyresYeah, bound to be dangerous traveling at that speed with elderly tractors with wobbly steering, and iffy brakes.
Any organiser who allows a fast modified tractor to go on their tractor run is asking for trouble as if anything happens Health and Safety would take them to the cleaners. Trailers and transport boxes with passengers should also be scrutinised carefully so as not to attract their attention.
I have lead several tractor runs and try not to go over 10mph on the road and even then some of the following tractors have trouble keeping up due to junctions and traffic etc.
Many tractor run participants do not like the large newer 40k and over tractors on the runs as they cannot see past them if they are in front and are very intimidating when they are following you on a T20. Also they make a lot of dust with their large tyres and have trouble with some of the narrower overgrown lanes causing problems.
Some organisers are segregating them whilst others are banning tractors
built after a certain year.
In that case a mf 135 is what you needmuir hill would be nice i admit...but rare, expensive and not as useful as a dexta on a small sheep farm
