This thread seems to be demanding MORE traceability! Couldn't agree more. It's the whole reason that whole life assurance is the only assurance. None of this 90 day tosh.

The sooner its brought in the better and I'll write to my MP off the back of feeling in this thread to demand it.

These are the entries copied from CTS, it suggests to me that some slaughterhouses have been given the option by CTS not to be clearly identified when former keepers search CTS for their movement history.
Perhaps @RPA could help explain this anomaly?
You're lucky, when we had cattle 50% of them never got a final destination logged on CTS

I'm struggling to see how a horse could get though that system as a cow. But on TFF many things are possible.

well it's happened before.....if animals are only traced halfway (which it sounds like) on their journey farm to plate there's basically a gaping hole in traceability once off the lorry

sounds like farmers are being used to give the illusion of traceability via RT

I bet they could find the farm if they needed a scapegoat.

There isn't traceability back to an individiual animal for the simple reason this would cost the processors and supermarkets money and that would never do.

It's fine to load the cost of individual animal ID onto the farmer though, with electronic readers and all that baloney because he is lower down the pecking order and doesn't kick up a fuss. He has to do as he is told or else it's a crime against humanity, but further up tree, well it doesn't really matter and can swept under the carpet with all sorts of platitudes.

Plus the massive gaping hole from birth until the final assured farm before slaughter in many instances.

All the gaps need closing.

But RT state that their assured produce is assured from farm to fork. It is, but that statement only applies to the last few months of time on farm. It's all but indefensible as a statement of truth.

Not all assured cattle are moved from pillar to post though out their lives, why pile more owness on the farmer, when they cant or wont tell you where it was just before abattoir.
