If barley and then protein/sugar beet etc on top?

Or two ton of total ration.

Also when we did BW bull beef they went as soon as they hit min weight as their feed efficiency drops off with age, but barley was pushing £190/ton then so might pay to take on longer now.

We made far more money nipping them, grazing for two summers and selling store last year.

Get some bicarb when you are at MVF as well.

Don't forget to keep a feed label/ copy invoice from each batch of feed/ minerals etc you buy for your farm assurance records.

From birth it will be more than that!

Also bulls will fight even if they have been in the same pen for months together.

Not sure why there is such an intrest in doing barley beef bulls currently??
My mate buys dairy cross blue bull calves in at a month old and finished them and he reckons they eat 2.25T so I reckon suckler bred bulls will eat slightly less, obviously some will eat less some will eat more

Live trade for bulls up here has to be seen to be believed

ok. I can do that all right. but I will need to look at feeders to allow me to move to adlib as feed in troughs at the moment.

Ideas. I understand that the hopper needs to be wide enough for loader bucket but now big as group is 25 animals. plus do a take silage away slowly or leave it in place.

If you have a big enough trough you don't need a hooper or anything fancy. Just keep upping their ration until they start leaving some, then just fill the trough. Simple :)
In most situations, if I dump a load of feed in the troughs it lasts about five days. I wouldn't think it wants to be much longer

Total ration, I’ve never had anything to do with black and whites (nor do I want to) so can’t comment on how long they take to finish
