The old has been playing up. We think its the main pump. But not 100% sure. Is there a way of make sure before we chuck another grand at her. We had tested pressure out of the port. When you steer it does drops alot. Code t253 comes up as well in tickover. And the steering goes crazy when warm to. All advise please

They have a separate steering pump. I've had both replaced. Tractor pretty much stopped with the main pump and steering became very laboured especially at low revs with the steering pump.

Arrrrh feck. I was let to believe that it was a primer pump on the left to feed the main pump. When she gets hot the steerings goes funny and she was slow to tip a trailor the other day

What does the steering do. If you exhaust all hydraulic flow e.g. dump back to tank via couple spools and remove brake lube line it should be flowing if boost pump is week there be no flow as brakes is last to get boost oil. If you hold steering at full lock and flow dissapers i be checking priority spools and steering xls pressure

The steering goes lumpy. The local fitter had a pressure flow meter. We got her up to temp. Oil light would flash. T254 comes up and gears change on there. Im sure shed got power beyond. He seen this problem before and a new pump sorted it

Make sure your filter bypass valve is still present in the pressure filter housing.
Only time we have changed ccls pumps is when a bucket load of debris has been through the system . Are your Brakes ok

The xls relief valve in steering orbital should be set to 150 if it jamming when it's low the steering will go and when it's high you loose 20 bar circuit and hydraulics. Also check spools in priority block. And also if the pump is staying ramped up with a high standby pressure
