What did you vote for? The voting slip said just 'Leave the European Union'. We shall have left, so presumably you have what you wanted and purchased. What did you expect other than to leave the European Union?

i was suffering under the illusion,it seems, that ,as a country, we'd make our own laws and not be ruled from brussels

But we will make our own laws, just that some of them may well mirror those laid out in the EU. We can have other laws that are our own, provided they do not create a situation that might adversely conflict with EU affecting trading arrangements. UK will have control of its money - your money, just that there may be a annual cash sum to gain entry to the EU club, and we have to pay our dues to previous commitments - seems reasonable. As said you will have left the EU, that was all that was on the voting slip - no T&Cs were attached on June 23 2016 - well I never saw any anyway. Simple - is it not.??

can't post the page from bbc news...but it says govt has accepted ammendment 'allowing the uk to replicate eu law made after brexit day and continue to participate in eu agencies'

no prob with agency bit (if eu want us to)....but 'replicating eu law'....kinda a red line to brexiteers i'dve thought

Hey ho that is life. You want to send me goods into EU countries then abide by my rules - you do not then do not send us any goods. seems reasonable to me. Brexiteers - well they can either get over it or kick up a fuss. If a fuss and EU do not back down then presumably we will not trade - again simple. I am though wondering what happened to this 'they need us more than we need them' But again that was not on the voting slip. Just 'Leave the European Union' no mention on that slip of the future relationship - that phrase amuses me as it sounds like a line from a Relate brochure. Hey ho.

Put it another way - more agricultural as it is a Farming Forum. I am a Pig Producer and my customer wants pigs that are fed grain from Farm Assured farms. I say this to my suppliers. You supply me but choose no to be Farm Assured. Other suppliers are Farm Assured. You say it does not matter. I say it does and will not take your grain unless you become Farm Assured or follow something similar (very similar) to Farm Assurance as I see Farm Assurance then might take your grain.

Now in the you need me more than I need you scenario then I would not be bothered about the Farm Assurance as I would need you grain regardless. Very simplistic and I anticipate better than me will come along to point out (possibly politely) why I am wrong. But that is how I am starting to see things. Anyway not a lot that I can do as what will be will be.

Best wishes,
