Winter barley all cut here..... 150 acres, 390 ton all trailers weighed out of the field, so accurate......roughly 14.5-16%
First field of Surge did 3.4t/ac, second 2.7t/ac, third field of Orwell 2.1t/ac
( that last field of Orwell was drill into wet heavy clay mush at the end of October..... We'd finished drilling everything else and had a bit of diesel and patience left and the seed in the shed so thought we'd maul it in..... Surprised it grew at all, so I spose 2.1 ton was better than a spring crop would have yielded and better than fallow)
Not happy, but under the circumstances it did as expected...... Fair bit of straw though, all baled and lead.
Quite a lot of secondaries, but a decent enough sample, 62-65 bushel
Straw:- first field did 3.5. 4'x3' big square bales/acre, Second did 1.75. 4' x 4' big square/acre. ( different baler/customer). Third poor field only 1/acre
