I have come to the conclusion that @bovrill lives in a different climate zone to us where there seems to be more rain, or maybe it is worse clay.
There is a limited amount of dust here but it is difficult to dry the straw as the humidity is so high, neighbour still combining is generating more dust than I have seen before I think.

People joke about the "I've got the heaviest clay" bragging, but I've genuinely never come across anyone else's soil that grabs moisture out of the air, and hangs on to it, like it does here.

Some terrific yields, some mediocre yields and some bloody awful but in a year of extremes and when I had water running through one field in April better than I thought

Back down a drain hole this morning, managed to acquire a handy little digger for a couple of days. It’s surprising how much quicker it is than the old brown, probably cos there’s no play in all the pins

Just passed an ERF wagon and drag, loaded up with straw, between Carmarthen and Llandeilo.
