Currently feeding out to the sucklers, only got a few days worth left. Been very useful since grass growth has slowed due to the dry weather.
Sorry meant where will you put your silage when you use the pit for handling. Have you moved to bales?

Ah right, sorry. We haven't made clamp silage for 10yrs or more, at 48' the face was simply too wide to stay fresh for feeding 50 sucklers. Was ok for 90 milk cows plus followers.

Small calves probably can, but the idea is to keep cattle flowing....I bought the curved race and it’s a standard size...it has to be wide enough to get the cows through...you can’t have everything

MEP engineering make one, I was interested in it for our set up but it's a portable one whereas we were wanting a fixed system. Also if you were to run cows and calves through it you'd still need it on its widest setting and risk calves turning round, unless you sorted the calves from the cows before you started.I did, but it was a bit tongue-in-cheek.
