Last year live was 155 this week , this year its 10-15p more

Year on year our better lambs are £10 less but the poorer lambs are dearer so overall not much difference. I have a feeling next year we could be looking back at these prices favourably as it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

Last year we were cashing some that were nicely finished but lacking a bit of weight they were coming to canny money but I don’t think that will wash this time

Yours would be really good quality as well.Does it not p!ss you off when you just get in the 70s for all your hard work? Theres a fair number of proper store buyers will pay in the 70s for good quality at Hexham,to sell later in the season.

I’m sure the fat lifted a fair bit in October last year

It won’t lift in October this year. Not wanting to talk trade down. But a Waiting list to go deadweight now. Having to wait 10-14 days for uplift

I think it will lift a bit but it won’t be a vast amount. January and the first half of February is always a drag I think everyone is skint

Also depends how lean some of these lambs are. Folk tend to panic when the grass isn’t doing its trick and shove lean stuff through

Those tag team boys, buy thousands of lambs, they buy really top class beltex lambs at big prices, they must go abroad. At least for the next 5 months.

Stirling, the auctioneer told me. And deadweight was around 370/80 too.

Just been told dunbia are 3.85 for lambs next week, Merthyr 3.90 today, down from £4 Monday, don't know about next week

These dw drop in prices are nothing unexpected for the sheep side of things anyway as lw has been less. Let’s hope it bites them on thei ar@es later on short sighted they are
