I think the whole milk industry should say thankyou very much Arla, it will certainly put presure on our milk buyer.

This is terning into such a rollercoster of a year, 6months ago i was pulling my hair out as no grub, today we cut what must be by fare our heaviest crop of red clover expect 4/500 bales, cows are milking realy well on these lush green pastures burnt in the draught, and looks like a good dry spell ahead, only bugger i dint cover ourselves for winter cake!
What part of South west still way to dry to say we're flush with grass rain was to late and now frost's this week have started to turn it yellowish.

What area does your rep cover ? I am not sure if these guy's/ girls are worth what they cost us if they can't give you honest information, and keep us properly and correctly informed there communication with members stinks
we hardly ever see them and then when you do they give you bullsh1t !! Do they do enough to be worth £10,000 of our money ? I don't think so.

Mr pain The local rep 15 years ago would have 2 standard lines every time:
“There cause to be optimistic about the future “
“The discounters are driving the market down”
Used to check my boots incase I’d stepped in anything when I heard those lines. Leaving first milk was one of the best things we ever did

Good news and pretty unexpected.

With production riding high and 7 milk auction drops I can’t claim to understand the logic behind it but welcome.

How many days do the reps actually work ?
That is a very good question @Coo man . Our woman told us she meets the Board every quarter and they have monthly conference calls about budgets and financials . Apart from that I am not sure.
This would be better on a FM thread, perhaps the Council members who do read this could answer this question.
So probably 4 days meetings and 12 x 2 hour phone calls for £10,000 nice work if you can get it .

Pretty disrespectful chat yet again. Spiteful Shiite chat. My dad was an area rep for I don’t know how long. That was the start of him never being on the farm so for at least when Dad was doing it was 7 grand and I’d say that wasn’t enough. Every night farmers on the phone complaining about stuff and sometimes it was constant meetings. Do u ever ask what the arla reps do! I have a gay arla rep friend and I know he does absalutly nothing for his cash
